Thinking of donating an item?
To be considered for our collections, donated items must meet specific criteria. We accept objects, on a case by case basis, that are:
- Directly connected to Clinton County, Ohio’s people, events, activities, properties, etc.
- Historically significant or representative of a time or event that impacted our community
- In good, stable condition
- Suitable for exhibit or research use
- Unique to our collection or in better condition than a similar item we already hold
- When in doubt or before throwing it out give our staff a call at 937-382-4684
We also welcome genealogy and research materials, including:
- Completed family genealogy books and research items
- Yearbooks, city directories, and local publications
- Books about Clinton County communities, landmarks, and history
- Clearly identified family photographs (names and locations known)
- Images of local structures and landscapes
- Topical materials on local businesses, organizations, and activities (accepted on a case-by-case basis)
Please note: Items should not be left on our doorstep while the Center is closed or mailed without first speaking to a staff member. We are unable to guarantee the safety of unsolicited items or properly document the information required to process a donation.

Need an appraisal?
The Clinton County History Center does not provide appraisals or assign monetary value to historical items. However, we are happy to recommend local qualified, professional appraisers to assist you. Please contact us for more information.
