Description
Our HSR notes that recommended repairs to Rombach Place will require a mix of private donations, grants, and special preservation funding. We are excited to share that the Historical Society has already been approved for a One-Time Strategic Community Investment Fund award through the 2024 Capital Budget.
This reimbursable grant of $50,000 will support our stucco repair project, which has a total estimated cost of $75,000. That means we still must raise at least $25,000 locally before we can complete the work and receive the full reimbursement.
We will also be investing in 24 historical appropriate louver shutters for Rombach Place. Partnering with Ellis Fence Co., a local craftsman, these shutters will be color-matched and styled to mimic the historic look used here through the 19th and 20th centuries. All shutters will be installed in Spring 2026 when restoration work on the stucco is completed and the property is repainted. The cost of these shutters is $16,900 in total are we are seeking support from our members and community as we fundraise money for this important project and long-term investment.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Clinton County Historical Society relies on community generosity to close that gap, match grant dollars, and move this vital restoration work forward.
Please note, there is a small credit card processing fee attached to your online order(s). This is to offset the fees that our processing company charges and to ensure your full membership or donation amount is given to the History Center.
