Upcoming Event: “Building Doctor” Clinic at Clinton County History Center
The Clinton County History Center is excited to announce that it will be hosting the “Building Doctor” clinic, organized in partnership with the State Historic Preservation Office, on November 7-8, 2024. This two-day event is a unique opportunity for historic property owners in Wilmington and the surrounding area to gain expert advice on preserving and restoring their buildings.
About the Event
Date and Location:
- Seminar: November 7, 2024, at the Clinton County History Center, 149 E. Locust Street, Wilmington, OH.
- House Calls: November 8, 2024, at selected properties within 5 miles of Wilmington.
What to Expect: The “Building Doctor” clinic will kick off with a free evening seminar on November 7. This seminar will address common issues faced by owners of older and historic buildings, including cracked plaster, wet basements, and masonry repairs. Led by experts from the State Historic Preservation Office, the seminar is designed to provide valuable insights and practical advice for maintaining the historical integrity of these structures.
On November 8, up to 10 historic sites will be selected for personalized “house call” assessments by the Building Doctor team. During these visits, preservation specialists will evaluate the selected properties and offer tailored advice on how to address specific challenges while preserving the building’s historic character.

Participation in the clinic, including both the seminar and the house calls, is completely free of charge. However, space is limited, and registration is required.
